  • The Announcement: God tells the angels He will place a representative (khalifah) on Earth.

  • The Angels' Question: The angels ask if this new creation will cause corruption and bloodshed, noting that they already constantly praise and glorify God. God replies that He knows what they do not. 

  • The Lesson of Names: God teaches Adam the names of all things, then challenges the angels to name them. When the angels admit they only know what God taught them, Adam successfully names the items, proving his capacity.

  • The Ultimate Choice: God tells them all to descend, promising that His guidance will come to humanity. Those who follow His guidance will feel no fear or grief, while those who reject and deny the signs will face the Fire eternally.
